The well-known Developmental Psychologist Erik Erikson believed that personality develops in 8 stages from infancy to death. The 8th and final stage, Integrity vs. Despair, begins at 65 years old. According to Erikson, it is during this time that individuals primary conflict involves contemplating and reflection about the life that they have lived and whether it has been successful or regretful. This stage focuses on giving back to society and investing in people and things that will outlive them. One way to give back to society is through volunteering. There are many volunteer opportunities available that range from volunteering at a school, nonprofit, or faith-based group. Based upon your interests, skills, and availability, we will match you with a local volunteer opportunity. Please contact us for more information.
